The Signature Island House Experience

Every stay at Island House is shaped around the people who are staying with us.

Before you arrive, we take the time to understand your interests, preferences and the rhythm you would like from your time on Lord Howe. Your Island House Manager then curates your stay around you — bringing together dining, adventure, transfers and time at the House, while continually adapting to the weather and conditions on the island.

The experience has been built with depth in mind. Our houses bring together museum-quality Australian art, collectible design and world-class high-fidelity audio; much of what you eat is grown in our own nursery and glasshouses or freshly caught from the waters surrounding Lord Howe; and our team is there throughout to make the experience feel personal and effortless.

Adventure is equally central to the Island House experience. We have partnered with Patagonia to equip our Adventure Room for spontaneous exploration, and work closely with some of Lord Howe Island’s most experienced operators and guides to experience the island according to your interests and ability. That might mean a morning snorkel or kayaking the lagoon, or more challenging hikes, freediving, fishing and days exploring further afield by boat. Our role is to understand your level of adventure and bring together the equipment, people and local knowledge to meet you there.

Food is another important part of the experience. Your kitchen is generously provisioned for breakfast and throughout the day, and one main meal each day — lunch or dinner — is fully chef-prepared and served by our team. For your other meal, our kitchen prepares everything ahead of time, leaving only the simple final touches to you — perhaps dressing a salad, taking something from the oven, or cooking freshly caught fish or steaks over the barbecue.

This gives each group a wonderful amount of freedom. Some days you may want lunch served after a morning on the water and a relaxed dinner together at the House; on others, dinner may become the centre of the evening. We shape the service around the way you want to experience the island.

Your stay includes:

• A dedicated Island House Manager and personally curated itinerary throughout your stay
• One fully chef-prepared and served lunch or dinner each day
• Breakfast provisions, snacks and your second main meal prepared by our kitchen
• Island-grown produce, freshly caught local seafood and carefully sourced artisanal ingredients
• A fully stocked inclusive bar with wine, spirits, Ruinart Champagne and beer brewed by our sister company, Lord Howe Island Brewery
• Airport, restaurant and adventure transfers

• Full use of our Patagonia-curated Adventure Room, including bikes, kayaks, paddleboards, surfboards, wetsuits, snorkelling and freediving equipment, fishing gear, waterproof cameras and wellness equipment

The Signature Island House Experience starts from $9,660 AUD per night, inclusive of GST, for exclusive use of Island House for up to eight guests across four bedrooms.

The Fully Serviced Island House Experience

We understand that every group travels differently, and Island House has been designed with that flexibility in mind.

For those who would like to completely hand over the dining element of their stay, our Fully Serviced Experience includes everything within the Signature Experience, with all meals fully prepared and served by our kitchen and service team.

It allows the entire group to move through the experience without anyone needing to think about breakfast, finishing a meal or gathering around the barbecue unless they simply want to.

The same depth of curation remains at the heart of the stay — your Island House Manager, adventures, transfers, housekeeping, equipment, food, drinks and the freedom to experience Lord Howe at your own rhythm. The difference is simply a greater level of service around dining.

The Fully Serviced Island House Experience is $14,260 AUD per night, inclusive of GST.
